Everything from the obvious injuries and arthritis, to the more deceptive poor posture or muscular imbalances that can inflame the rotator cuff. The shoulder joint is the most mobile joint of the human body, so suffering a decrease in range of motion and/or pain can be a serious diminishment of your otherwise normal life activities. Assessing the spaces (how much space there is in the joint matters), capsules (tough membranes sheathing the joint), bursae (small, fluid-filled sacs), muscles, ligaments (bone connectors), and innervation (there are 3 nerves supplying the shoulder) of this very busy body part is best left to a pain specialist.
